The multi-part film "Two Destinies" tells about the lives of two village friends Vera and Lida. Both girls are young and beautiful, and both are not without the attention of young people. Vera works as a veterinarian, looks after her younger sister. She is being cared for by up-and-coming party functionary Ivan. But Lida is sure that in life she will have everything she wants. However, the measured life in the village is disrupted by the arrival of a young specialist from Moscow - Stepan. At the first meeting with him, Vera realizes that they were created for each other. But Lida has plans for it. She understands that Stepan is the only way to escape to Moscow. Lida does everything to prevent Vera and Stepan from being together.
