During the expedition to Kanchenjungu, a young man dies. His companion Wanda at a press conference tells how it happened. One of the participants of the funeral, documentary director, offers Wanda to return to Kanchenjunga for the body of the missing climber. The expedition, in the course of which the film should also be shot, is joined by the girl of the deceased, Anna, and her father Jerzy, a friend of Wanda. All four must confront not only harsh nature, but also their own difficult past.
