The Demilitarized Zone is a land of silence, a land free of people. Stretching for 248 km - from the mouth of the Imjin River to the city of Koson - it divides North and South Korea. On both sides of the demarcation line is the so-called neutral zone, the former front line, on which two-thirds of the Korean War (lasting 37 months) took place. 60 years after the ceasefire, the neutral zone remains a no-go zone that no civilian can step on.
