As far as I know, Hostage is not the first collaboration between Isaac Florentine and Scott Adkins. Before that, there was “Ninja”, which, in turn, is a remake of “American Samurai” (on license tapes was designated as “Bloody Drive”) from Florentine himself. Clean water action! Standardly worn plot and does not pretend to be original, but rather unpredictable ending. Moreover, the ending, which does not constitute a feeling of incompleteness of the plot or dissatisfaction with the viewer. What? You better look for yourself. Another comment about the plot: not so long ago there was a film where Scott rescued his niece from the clutches of the bandits, now the turn has reached his son. If you like it, you should also check out “Close Distance”.
