Despite the title and annotation, the film was not cranberry at all.
There is no complicated story in it either. It is rather a life-span of three generations of Russian immigrants, shown through the eyes of their youngest representative, Victor, a social taxi driver.
The youngest member of the family is distinguished by amazing sincerity and responsiveness. Unlike established stereotypes, he does not think about personal enrichment, but looks for himself and tries to make the world around a little better.
It is this desire that leads to a saturation of one of his working days with various events. To talk specifically about some individual details of the plot is superfluous - the whole meaning and atmosphere of the film consists of little things, of which there are a great many.
The action takes place in social homes, a center for people with disabilities, a black quarter, where a grandfather from the USSR finds a common language with a black grandmother through his love of fried chicken.
A bright and kind film. Even Dima is shown as a romantic character, although his motivation is not well understood.
Separately, I want to praise the operator’s work: this effect of immersion is achieved infrequently.
