Absolutely toothless film that waddles before the Chinese audience like an obedient dog, trying to please so tremblingly and slavishly that this pathetic spectacle just sickens. Doubly disgusting is the fact that the film was not shown in China. So much humiliation. China is sensitive to recognize when corporations do not work out of conscience, and with their licking try to get in the ass.
In addition to the fact that cinema is a failure at the level of the concept itself, I will highlight a few points:
- The fabulous labyrinth forest blocking the path of the car is shown as a serious problem. Everyone forgot that there are helicopters in the world. In addition, in the world of Marvel, a lot of interesting personalities can fly and teleport.
Emil Blonsky and Wong participate in amusing fights. They're also contracted, bought. Wong is a decent man and a leader of magicians. They couldn't be around, let alone play jokes together.
- Mandarin does not know that mandarin is not only a fruit, but also a Chinese title.
- The image of Mandarin absolutely does not correspond to the villain known to fans. He was softened to a potential Chinese audience so much that it was perfectly possible to make him the main character.
- The time of this character is gone forever. According to the canon, he was the enemy of Iron Man, but the poor man did not live to see the time when the authors gathered. I read an article many years ago about why there will never be a Mandarin, as well as a solo Widow – in the end, events happened, but the reasons why it is now meaningless, turned out to be valid.
- Headless animal. What junkie was that idea? Well, yes, there is something in mythology, but... there is a lot of stuff in it, and what, you need to drag all the crap?
- Fin Fan Phum did not appear in the film. Yes, a ridiculous name, but fans of the movie universe know that this villain teased in the third plan for more than 10 years. This was the perfect place for him to appear. But no, just some random dragon.
Worst of all, the film tried to please absolutely everyone without offending anyone, without violating anything, making every detail like a concert on request. As a result, we have everything in the film at once: drama, crime, the story of growing up and outcast, comedy, love, wusya (genre about magical kung fu), a fairy tale, and at the end also a Kaiju film. And all this is on the tracks of a children's blockbuster Disney, which has not forgotten about feminism, racial diversity and garbage references. All set? Okay. At what cost? At the cost of everything. Because in this film in the end, there was no place for its main character, and the project, which was originally conceived as a superhero from Marvel, turned out to be another Disney fairy tale about a miracle country, and Marvel itself simply fell out as an unnecessary link in the chain. This is a great example and lesson for all authors: in pursuit of the desires of the peripheral audience, never lose the essence, the original idea, otherwise you risk losing the central audience.
