I love Ozone movies and I’m comfortable with homosexual subjects, but this film left mixed impressions.
It's all very nice, Ozonovski. .
In a seaside French town, a handsome 16-year-old boy meets a slightly more fearsome comrade, and he seduces him. The first youthful love, deep feelings, drama of betrayal, etc. - in general, the blue "everything is like people"
And looking at the slender smooth, semi-nude bodies of the heroes, sometimes you really catch yourself thinking, "What... difference is a girl, a boy."
But one moment really hurt me.
The film in general is very psychological - the feelings of GG are analyzed quite deeply, But the moment of his awareness of his homosexuality completely bypasses.
At one point in the GG's internal dialogue, "I finally understood why he was saving me." Oh, I think I'll be right there. No shit. On this all the experiences of the hero on this occasion end - all further he accepts, as if it is necessary.
And the case – I remind you – takes place in 85, and homosexuality is unequivocally condemned by society (and in the film, the moment clearly shows this).
Not to mention the fact that for any teenager, the first sexual experience in itself is a big shock.
And this silence I can not forgive Ozone. The point here is not even in the promotion of homosexuality (although this is probably the most frank film I have seen), but in dishonesty in front of the audience.
So, unfortunately, I was disappointed by Ozone.
P.S. I watched the film in the cinema (until they were closed again), and I did not get there from the first entrance. The first time there were no tickets, although the hall was half empty. The coronavirus, damn it. Well, at least the auditors do not walk around the hall every 10 minutes. to check whether the masks are wearing on the audience (of course not dressed :) - as it suggests to organize our moronic Roskomnadzor. When will this madness end? Will it ever end? I think the sight of muzzled cattle warms the soul of our authorities. And not just ours.
