Italian TV series “Bullet in the Heart” / Una pallottola nel cuore (2014 – 2020), directed by Luca Manfredi. The main character of the series is an elderly journalist of the crime chronicle Bruno Palmieri (Gigi Proietti) is going to retire, but he is asked to do one old thing, at first he does it as if not considering it a serious job, but then it becomes his main profession and in recent years he is engaged in digging up old cases that at one time either ended in an unfair sentence, or hung. Despite his age, he has a good memory, which allows him to remember the details of old cases, he knows how to find the necessary contacts. At times he is helped (and sometimes hindered by some traits of character) by his old colleague and photographer friend Fjocchi (Marco Marzocca). Bruno is a widower who has a grown-up doctor son who is very concerned about his father’s health, as he was once assassinated, a bullet stuck in the vicinity of his heart, making surgery dangerous. Unexpectedly, fate brings him to his former lover Paola (Licia Malletta) and, as it turns out, they have a common daughter Maddalena (Francesca Inaudi), who comes to work in the same editorial office where Bruno works. At one time, after learning about the pregnancy, Paola left without telling Bruno, immediately after the assassination attempt, because she did not want to complicate his life further. This line, too, becomes quite complex, which becomes even more complicated when another character appears. Bruno has a friendly relationship with police commissioner Enrico (Giovanni Scifoni), who helps him. All sorts of new relationships begin to be formed, not always simple, and sometimes dangerous, some heroes die, some turn out to be criminals. But Bruno ends up finishing everything he has started, the last of which turns out to be the most dangerous. The series is not bad, with humor, watched with interest, despite all the melodramatic digressions, but after all, in life without it does not happen, no matter who the main characters are.
Alas, the continuation of the series, most likely, will not be, because on the day of his 80th birthday died the lead actor Luigi (Gigi) Proietti, a very charming actor.
