The continuation of Borat came out suddenly, however, it quickly becomes clear why now. And understanding this picture does not paint at all.
Rejecting a subtle satire, a second layer of crude pranks, Cohen put together neoliberal agitation. This drastically reduced the quality of the entire film.
The organic flow from one scene to another, tearing the veils off the problems of society as a whole, has become much more problematic. It is very difficult to naturally ridicule Trump, his entourage and the delusions of his constituents, carefully noticing the schizophrenia oozing from their “liberal” opponents, who, to be fair, in the 14 years since the release of the first Borat, gave the world much more reason to laugh at them.
Trying to compete with moronic pranksters from YouTube, Cohen descends to include in the film an awkward scene in the Synagogue. Such episodes are unlikely to cause anything but Spanish shame. Perhaps there was nothing more to finish the timekeeping.
Due to the ideological ban on banning the entire modern agenda, the new Borat has to joke the same jokes 4-5 times. The daughter in the cage is ahaha.
Borat's sequel illustrates how difficult it is to produce acutely social provocations (and interesting comedies) in Western society of a culture of cancellation and a bunch of different minorities who constantly strive to be offended. As a result, from the standing in the film, except for references to the previous part, passed modern censorship, almost nothing.
Too bad. It seems that nothing new and worthwhile will come from the West for a long time.
