A recent widower and acclaimed poet, enigmatic Inspector Adam Dalgliesh employs his exceptional empathy and insight to plumb the darker depths of the human psyche while investigating complex crimes in 1970s England.
I watched 4 episodes of the first season and the whole second.

Good plots, where you can relax, watching the stories, kept in a calm rhythm and without any excesses in cruelty; just relax, and enjoy the pace and dexterity of the authors, skillfully juggling the facts known to the reader from the very beginning.

After watching the British miniseries “Inspector Adam Dalgliesh” / Dalgliesh, 2021, the 1st season, 6 episodes, as always, studying the materials about it, I found that this is not the first adaptation of the novels of the famous English detective Phyllis Dorothy James. This time, the rights to the adaptation of three of her novels were bought - "The Nightingale Shelter", "Black Tower" and "Taste of Death" (two episodes for each novel), previously these novels had already been filmed, as well as several more of her novels, but then a separate series was shot for each novel. The main role was starred by actor Bertie Carvel. I can’t say that the series turned out very outstanding, but not bad, like almost all British detectives, they shoot them well. Adam Dalglish is not a very traditional policeman, among other things, he is also a poet, and his poems are published, he is a rather closed and reserved person, a widower who lost his wife and child, from this trauma he still has not recovered. What seemed a little odd was that the car he was driving was not as cheap as his assistant’s, and in the second case it was more consistent with the character. The actor turned out to be good, looked without tension, although, after reading the reviews of the British, she found that many prefer the previous performer of this role in the old film adaptation - Roy Mursden, also known to them as an actor. Some reasonable doubt, as I found out, was caused by some characters, for example, one former black guard, they kind of really at the time (70s), when the action, could not be, they appeared later in the British army. Then Dalglish mentions DNA analysis, which had not yet been done in the investigation of crimes. But I think people don’t pay attention to such small things.
