The book is very full of events, ideas, secondary plots, etc. But in cinema, the laws are different, and the fact that the narrative has undergone changes is quite expected and understandable. And then Netflix fully justified itself - did with the "Three Bodies Task" the same thing that did with "Foundation" Asimov.
Namely: simplified all the components, added the agenda (thank God, though not as provocative as usual), reduced all the grandeur and scale of what is happening to the scale of the showdown in the village.
But the saddest thing is that they shot this series in the same way that they shot dozens of other TV shows, using the same patterns and structure.
Screenwriters came up sloppy. Even if you discard the excessive simplification of the plot, which will not notice those who have not read the book, the series is full of inconsistencies and illogicalities.
For example:
The leader of the accomplices society was caught by three solarars. She asked about the charge in the context of release if it was not brought. And the authorities actually release her when the term of detention without charge comes.
And here immediately begs 2 questions.
1) Who the fuck let her go? She is the most valuable witness and, in fact, almost the only clue to the whole damn thing that is happening.
2) What other deadlines and laws???? They didn’t think much about laws when they literally cut into pieces under 1,000 people, including children.
That is, to pass through a meat grinder a whole commune with children is nothing terrible, but to detain a criminal of a global scale longer than expected is impossible.
I have a lot of complaints about the series.
Briefly.
For those of you who don’t know the story, the movie will probably enjoy it. The only thing that hurts is that in this film they will make the wrong opinion about the original, much more twisted, rich and majestic story.
