I rarely watch Russian movies or TV shows unless someone advises or gives me a good impression. In this case, on the tip of one friend, I watched the new film directed by Pavel Mirzoev “Blonde”, 2023. This is a film adaptation of the eponymous film novel by Alexander Volodin (in the original subtitle - a film story with one intermission), which after watching the film I decided to read, something in the film did not suit me or anything. And I made sure I didn't do it for nothing. To say that Mirzoev added something to the film is to say nothing, he changed the plot quite a lot, well, he is not the only one who does this, many rework the originals, proceeding to their interpretation. If in the film the director shows the side of the heroine’s activity, about which there are only mentions in the story, i.e. the so-called theatrical activity, then the story focuses on exactly what the film and the story are about – Irina’s feeling for Leo. In the story and the studio after the disappearance of Leo did not fall apart, and the room Irina shot not for the studio. I will not retell either the one or the other plot, who wants to watch the film and read the story, it is small. When I watched the film, I sometimes remembered the heroine of J. Trier’s film “The Worst Man in the World”, the heroine and looks like her. I understand that the director deliberately chose such places grotesque manner of behavior of the heroine, but in some places she annoyed me, to tell the truth. I found out that in one theatrical production (and the play continues to be staged in the theater) the heroine was played by Alice Freundlich, so I would like to see her in this role. The epigraph to the story is Tyutchev’s lines, very accurately reflecting the essence of the heroine’s behavior: Oh, my great soul! Oh, heart full of anxiety! Oh, how you beat on the doorstep It is like a double being. . F. I. Tyutchev
