The film is based on the true story of Sayid, who murdered 16 prostitutes between 2000 and 2001. Saeed is a deeply religious Muslim and believes he should cleanse his city of prostitutes.
The police were in no hurry to catch the maniac, as he seemed to help her fight prostitution. The city is provincial, lives slowly. Here comes the capital’s journalist, who has two goals: to regain lost in the capital status in the profession and to understand why the police is slow to disclose. She helps catch the killer.
As a work of fiction, the film is weak. But what is interesting is how Iran lives now, what life is like, what is the position of women and the attitude of the people to the murderer during the trial, i.e. his moral level.
The final footage is just awful.
In Cannes in 2022, the performer of the role of journalist Zara Amir Ebrahimi received the prize for Best Actress.
