I have not watched films for a long time, tried TV series, but yesterday I watched one new Italian film - "There will be another tomorrow" (on the KP - "There is always tomorrow") / C'è ancora domani, 2023. It was staged by Italian actress Paola Cortellesi, who decided to become a director by her 50 years, and, I must say, she did very well for her debut. I read that she borrowed something from the stories of her grandmother, who, like many Italian women, went through the problems described in the film. A poor family lives, consisting of a husband, wife and three children - an adult daughter and two sons. Husband - Ivano - an unrestrained man, constantly harassing his wife, beating her and losing money at cards, his wife - Delia - does not have a permanent job, but works with various small jobs, the daughter was also taken away from school, they say, it is necessary to earn, and the daughter should study men, and the daughter studied well, which can not be said about hooligan boys, their study is absolutely not interested, they only fight among themselves, being still very restrained on the language, there is someone to learn - Dad's example before his eyes. They also have a father-in-law lying in bed, but also demanding attention. Delia submissively bears all the men's insults, but somewhere in the depths of his soul, discontent ripens. Once she receives an invitation to the polls – this is the first election in which women will be able to take part, however, at first she throws this agenda, but then pulls it out of the trash. And here we are following the development of events, some of which are very sharp and unconventional, the actors also play well. The film was shot in a kind of neorealist spirit - it is black and white, events also unfold at that time, but some techniques were used - for example, the most cruel scenes of beatings are presented in the spirit of absurdist dance, there are still such unconventional techniques. We ended up with a good movie that I watched with interest. And yes, the issue of women's participation in the elections there was very acute, and the results of the elections showed that the vast majority of women wanted it, given how many of them participated. And Delia was one of those women, despite all the obstacles that stood in her way.
