For more than 70 years, continuously, at the same point of Lake Baikal, biologists take water samples. Scientists study the smallest organisms to monitor the state of the deepest lake on Earth. But there are fewer and fewer people willing to continue this long experiment, and practical skills may be lost. Technology comes to the rescue. This story is about how neural networks learned to distinguish between the smallest crustaceans, and specialists from different fields - to understand each other.
