Before any end,
Not broken by the winds,
Wait, Man,
With his face thrown away like fire!

Charlie Kaufman is the screenwriter of Orion and Darkness, a very cool screenwriter in the world of cinema, he has an Oscar for the original script “The Eternal Sunshine of the Pure Mind” (2005), an Oscar nomination for the film “Adaptation” (2003), an Oscar nomination for “Being John Malkovich” (2000), and for the animation “Anomalyse” (2016). He also wrote the script for the film Confession of a Dangerous Man (2002) with Sam Rockwell and directed (directed and scripted) – a masterpiece: New York (2008) with Philip Seymour Hoffman.
“Orion – Darkness” – in its structure – a very simple cartoon, there is no layering of semantic load. But the cinematic reception, like a movie in a movie, is here. The mix is real with fantasy. This family project from DreamWorks and Netflix turned out to be truly touching and heartfelt. The main idea of the picture is about fear, about how to overcome it.
“Fear is like fire. That's what one boxing coach said. If you can handle fire, you can warm up and cook food, and in the darkness you can light your way. But if you lose control of him one day, he'll burn you or he'll kill you. Fear can be both your enemy and your ally. (Tokyo gul)
This is a movie with a psychoanalytic effect. For both adults and children.
Very good. My family and I really enjoyed it. 😀
