The story from the series "What we have, do not store, lost, we cry" - not literally, of course, but practically so. The film directed by French director Maurice Pial, which he directed based on his own novel, “We Will Not Grow Old Together” (Nous ne vieillirons pas ensemble, 1972). The film was nominated for the Palme d'Or, and starring Jean Janne received the prize for Best Actor. Jean (Jean Jann) and Catherine (Marlene Jobert) have been practically legal lovers for six years, he even knows and sometimes meets her parents, with whom she lives, his father also knows about Catherine. The situation is complicated by the fact that Jean has been married for 11 years and is not going to divorce his wife Françoise (Masha Meril), although she, as it turns out, is also aware of his relationship with Catherine. At the same time, it is not visible that he very much values this love affair, since at times he behaves with it, to put it mildly, in a boorish way, allowing even physical violence. But gradually everything begins to change, Catherine begins to move away from him, although he declares in the heat of irritation during another quarrel that she constantly clings to him. Maybe when I did, but not now. And when it finally comes to him, then he himself begins to cling, but Catherine is not going to retreat and decides to part with him, although it is not easy for her. The next thing is worse, she's getting married, all the time she's been hiding that she has someone else. And Jean remains at the broken trough, with him only his memories and photos remain. Even his wife sympathizes with him, condemning Catherine, but he is forced to admit that he himself was guilty. The film for its genre is very good, the actors are also good, and people – they are almost the same everywhere.
