“Krechinsky’s Wedding” is a silent film of the Russian Empire. The basis of the painting is a play Alexander Vasilyevich Sukhovo-Kobylin in the production of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. Krechinsky (A. Novinsky) - card cheater, suffered a complete financial fiasco. The only way to stay afloat is a profitable marriage. There are 10 days until the wedding date, and there is no money. Krechinsky sends Rasplyuev’s bride (Vladimir Davydov) to take an expensive pin from the woman, allegedly to check the bet. He changes the real pin for a fake, and gives the jewelry to the pawnshop.
