Carlos Saura, La prima Angélica (1974) No longer a very young man comes to his mother’s hometown to rebury her remains in the family crypt, and meets with his aunt, as well as with a cousin in whose family he had to live in childhood and with whom he was then childishly in love. My cousin even lives in the same house, the floor below. We learn almost nothing about the characters, because the whole action appears before us in the form of fragmentary memories, childhood and present fantasies and nightmares, memories came and went, the hero is going to leave, we do not know what will happen to them next, the finale is open, but at the same time echoes again with a childhood memory, and then everything ended not too successfully. An interesting reception - in all flashbacks, the hero appears in his current hypostasis, which gives the current plaque of conditionality and some unimmediateness. In modern times, scenes where he plays with a girl as her age look somewhat risky, although they are absolutely innocent. In the lead role, I really liked actor Jose Luis López Vázquez, whom I have never seen in a movie, although he has a huge filmography.
