In pursuit of happiness A story based on real events. Again about the poor family, again about the breadwinner who, as he can, climbs to feed his family. This time the times are a little different (80s of the last century) and the hero is a black guy who sells medical scanners, it is not clear who needs them.
The directors have no ideas or inspirations. Because they take other people's stories from the lives of other people who have achieved something in their lives out of nothing. But whether the actors and directors of such films will get the same honors is up to the audience to decide.
The whole picture is held by Will Smith (almost half of the $55 million budget in his pocket, like no other). For most of the film, we will only watch it. How did he do it? Don't know. Either it was Chris Gardner, and Smith gave it so well, or it was Smith, I don't know. But I'll tell you one thing: Smith's super blockbuster roles go much easier and sweeter. I am so used to contemplating him as another savior of the world, and not as an ordinary rustic guy who wants to teach his little son life.
As sometimes happens when the filmmakers perfectly convey the idea of the film in its title. It's the same thing here. And our distributors for this plus that they did not cheat with the translation, as often happens.
