The cartoon "Bazar" is a short excerpt of the full-length animated film "The Tale of the Pop and His Worker Balda", created by the Soviet animator Mikhail Tsekhanovsky. The film, created in the 1930s with the cooperation of Tsekhanovsky with the composer Dmitry Shostakovich, burned down during the bombing of Leningrad in 1941. “Bazar” is the only surviving fragment in which the poems of Alexander Vvedensky and the music of Shostakovich were used, which, guided by fragments of the composer’s score, was completed in 2005 by his student Vadim Bibergan.
