There are two possibilities: either we are alone in the universe or not. Both are equally terrible. © Arthur Clarke
In the house of a young family begin to happen strange and terrible things. Doors open, objects move and disappear, the youngest son talks about some new friend. It would seem that the ghosts are mischievous again. This time they are aliens.
From the very beginning, nothing good foreshadowed watching this film, because I am well acquainted with the work of director Scott Charles Stewart (Legion, Shepherd), and I am not impressed with him, to put it mildly. But this time, old Scotty didn't get much money, you don't get much special effects. Bettany has nothing to pay and accordingly to shoot with him action horror is not possible. And this, as it turned out, played into everyone's hands. In the new genre of UFO horror, he succeeded much more.
What happens on the screen causes interest, which is caused by a good plot and a good atmosphere. Plus a couple of "boo-moments" are not bad. The actors are not well known, but are recognizable. Keri Russell (August Rush), Josh Hamilton (Survive) and Dakota Goyo (Living Steel) play level. The budget of the film is small, which means waiting for powerful special effects and large and clear plans of the aliens themselves, called in the film “Grey”, is not worth it.
In general, I love this topic of UFOs, it’s a pity that we are rarely spoiled with horror stories about them, because something other than “Signs” Shyamalan and “Fourth Kind” with Lucei Jovovich does not come to mind at once. Well, it remains to be expected that our alien friends will often scooze in the corn fields and delight us in the sky with the colorful lights of their ships. Maybe then this topic will again become relevant among filmmakers and they will still please us with good films about green men. And thank you to Mr. Scott and
