The basis of the first British House of Cards directed by Paul Sid and two subsequent series were the books of the famous politician Michael Dobbs, who is perfectly familiar with the whole cuisine of British politics, occupying successively different positions in the Conservative party, he is considered a skilled politician and even was once called “Westminster hitman with a baby face”. He received a life peerage and is now a member of the House of Lords. Unlike the American series, this series contains only 4 episodes and, of course, it is very British. Great actor Ian Richardson as Francis Urquhart, the leader of the parliamentary faction of the conservative party. He skillfully hides his ambitions, but purposefully goes to his goal, not shying away from any methods and actions, this is such a notorious cunning bastard with an impenetrable face and, in the end, a murderer. He's pursuing his goal. I liked the series, its brevity is also a plus, the Americans still took on a very long series. The series became a cult in England, they generally like this theme, after which Urquhart's crown phrase came into use: "You might very well think that; I couldn't possibly comment" ("You could well think that; I can't comment").
Starting with health. . . And so the series is rife with public speeches that, I don't even know who might like. But over time, there was less intrigue, more and more clarification of the relationship. The last two seasons have not even been watched.
