Annie Will Glack made a great and spectacular movie, touching in content, filled with talented acting and great music. Naturally, when we are talking about the already repeatedly filmed musical, we are dealing in fact only with the re-singing of long-known compositions, but perhaps it is the modern sound that they now lack. If the iconic and well-known "It's The Hard-Knock Life" has not changed much, then songs such as "Tomorrow", "I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here" and "Little Girls" have changed almost beyond recognition.
The actors perform their parts themselves, and celebrities such as Sia, Beck and Greg Kurstin, who became the composer of the picture, worked on the musical component of the modern picture. The musical numbers are amazing! Old songs come to life in a new way, performed by Jamie Foxx (" The Amazing Spider-Man 2) and almost eclipsed by Cameron Diaz ("The Mask). Children, of course, do not lag behind adults, their songs came out no less bright and spectacular, and also a very cool and cute role went to Rose Byrne (" X-Men: First Class), and a great addition to the picture were the characters of David Zayas (" Gotham) and Adewale Akinoye-Agbaje ("Thor 2: Dark World, Bullet in the Head). Even the main villain of the picture performed by Bobby Cannavale ("Parker) sings, but in what musical would the main villain not sing?! And as a pleasant bonus of the cast there is a magnificent scene with a parody of “Twilight”, about the life of mermaids, where the main roles are played by Mila Kunis and Eton Kutcher.
The plot is the same as always: orphan Annie and a bunch of other children live with an extremely strict warden, Annie is busy finding her real parents, and fate brings her to a billionaire who opens up a whole new world for her. Of all the adaptations, this one was the best. For example, the character of Cameron Diaz is very subtly worked out and brilliantly rewritten in the new in the former recognizable framework, her heroine was greatly animated and humanized in comparison with the versions of 82 and 99 years.
A big budget allowed you to turn around to the fullest – modern electronics, all the rich luxury, helicopter flights, the final action with a chase and much more. The change in the skin color of the main characters, however, did not lose the overall canonicity. Annie still has curly hair, and Fox appears in at least one scene canonically bald, it turns out that all the time his character wears a wig. In terms of lyrics and relationships, the new film almost copies the Disney version of Rob Marshall, and even better.
Modern adaptation went to this plot only for the benefit, a new sound, new scales of luxurious rich life and fun, the use of modern gadgets and devices, everything looks really great, and the raised problems and conflicts have not gone away to this day, remaining acute and relevant, perfectly raised as the plot develops and the heroes are revealed. The magnificent cast and excellent musical component make Annie a truly festive and bright event in the world of cinema. It turned out a wonderful family musical, kind, sweet, charging with positive and good mood. And according to the tradition of many adaptations of comics - there is even a funny bonus scene after the credits!
