A Life Outside is a story of passion and obsession, the true story of six surfers from New Jersey who stood on the board about half a century ago and continue to conquer the waves to this day. When surfing was booming in the 1960s, the Casino Pier in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, became one of the best places for surf fans on the East Coast and remained so for decades until it was almost destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. The film tells the story of this pier and the surfers associated with it, past and present.
