The drama Tokyo Bandwagon is an adaptation of a series of short stories written by Yukiya Shoji. The story revolves around a bookstore located in a Tokyo neighborhood selling supported books and its owners, the Hott family. The main character of the series "Stories of a big family" - Ao Hota (Kazuya Kamenashi), a man of thirty, a ladies' man, a guy kind and in principle harmless. Ao is the grandson of the family patriarch, Kanachi (Sei Hiraizumi), a shopkeeper and the only one born to another mother among his siblings. This situation a little strains Ao, who feels that he lacked love. One day, after drinking too much, Ao gets to the police station and there meets a college student Suzumi (Mikako Tabe). Despite the fact that their first meeting clearly did not work, Ao feels that he liked the girl, and is determined to see her again. At the same time, he does not even assume that Suzumi has a set of problems of her own, and interference in her life is fraught with the acquisition of new troubles. Ao Ganato’s father (Tamaki Koji) is a rock star who professes the principle of “Love conquers all.” Against this background, Ao’s alienation looks even stronger. Problems of any kind always seem to know how to find their way to the Hott family, and its members try to solve them in sometimes very outlandish ways. But could it really be that “love will conquer everything”?
