The film is about Prince Meshchersky, a descendant of the famous Russian princely family, the only heir to the estate in the suburban village of Alabino, which in the 40s was destroyed "before the foundation" and put on rubble for the construction of the road. From the former beauties of the once luxurious palace, only high columns of the facade remained. Evgeny Meshchersky came from Ukraine with his family to restore the estate completely, as it was before the seventeenth year.
