From 1932 to 1935, Paraguay and Bolivia fought a war over the disputed territory of Chaco Boreal. “Requiem for the soldier” is a tribute to those who did not return from the battlefields. In the film, the tragedy of those years is reflected in the fate of Paraguayan officer Hernan Rodriguez, who was forced to leave his family and bride and go to the front.
