Before playing Lucky Gilmour, Kid Nikki, John Claskey in Spanish English and Michael Newman in Remote, Adam Sandler gave sketches on Saturday nights live. He did it with dedication – see for yourself! He sang, though not always musically, cheerful Christmas songs. He sang the Jewish prayer of Hanukkah and the hymns of the Kajuns, those strange people who still live in Louisiana, speak Creole French and sing the blues to the accordion. Sandler, of course, did not come to this, but he managed to laugh. Even the opera singer played as best he could. You dressed like a damsel. What was not in the biography of a very young Sandler, until he was not noticed by gripping producers, snooping around major studios! close

Unlike the vast majority of American actors, Christopher Walken speaks with a variety of accents. Like an emigrant from Eastern Europe, like a French minister, like a colonel in the Confederate army who speaks an impeccable southern dialect, which only a man with absolute hearing can playfully reproduce. Walken, who starred in Michael Cimino, Abel Ferrara and Tony Scott, the same Walken with the forged face of a maniac strangely turns into a comic lover, almost a clown in the arena. And so it must be – perfect gift always has two sides. Without Walken, "Saturday Nights Live" would have a different story. He is amazing, inimitable, otherworldly beautiful, subtle, ironic. The collection includes the most popular numbers. They are all very different, but there is a common property that is not typical for American masters of mass cinema. It's a perfect taste. close

The Big Breakfast was a British light entertainment television show shown on Channel 4 and S4C each weekday morning from 28 September 1992 until 29 March 2002 during which period 2,482 shows were produced. The Big Breakfast was produced by Planet 24, the production company co-owned by former Boomtown Rats singer and Live Aid organiser Bob Geldof.
The programme was distinctive for broadcasting live from former lockkeepers' cottages commonly referred to as "The Big Breakfast House", or more simply, "The House", located on Fish Island, in Bow in east London.
The show was a mix of news, weather, interviews, audience phone-ins and general features, with a light tone which was in competition with the more serious GMTV and even more serious BBC breakfast programmes. close
