The Russian Peter and the Jew Solomon worked in the shorthand workshop. The unexpected news of the marriage of Peter’s son Nicholas to Solomon’s daughter Sonya caused a quarrel and the closure of the workshop. The young were not allowed in either family. The Komsomol cell intervened and, using the love of grandmothers, reconciled the families.
