The very case when the film about heroism is not at its core pathetic, but even everyday, ordinary. And the way the story is told, how the composition is presented, the conflict part and the “inaudible” climax are the merit, first of all, of the Master of his craft, who does not lower the bar during his career – Clint Eastwood. And the monumentality and fundamentality of the work itself (the autobiographical book of Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow – “Duty First” – the book I read, it is good) perfectly fits into those famous 7 minutes in the air, which are shown with special care, but not high-flown, without breaking. Here, for Eastwood, such a moment as pedantry is important. And the little things that are given to the operator Tom Stern, who professionally describes the disaster from different points.
Heroism is a good will to absolute self-destruction.
Heroism is the mood of a person striving for a goal other than which he does not count at all. Heroism is a good will to absolute self-destruction.
Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche
Great movie. We had been watching this movie for a long time and were impressed. For those who haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. Everything is presented in a single structure of facts and vitality. Dry, no shock and no euphoria. That's right. Yeah. 💼
