Sports movies are often good. This is not surprising, because the script creates life itself, for sport is always drama, competition (often beyond the limits of what is allowed), overcoming, and fighting for one’s own self. Unfortunately, the movie “Willpower” did not turn out this way – it does not reach not only to “Rocky”, but even to “Moving Up”. The story of the great American athlete Jesse Owens was briefly known to me, a black hero of the Olympics-36 in Berlin, which shaken before the eyes of the whole world the idea of the Germans about the superiority of the Aryan race. So, in fact, I've retold the whole movie. I didn't learn anything new from him. The whole "educational" component is essentially contained in the last credits, of which there are many. And how Owens came to this victory, what "willpower" he showed, what made him great - from the film is unclear. The main theme of the tape is racism (expectedly), but even here the authors did not try hard, even the Americans master to make tears in such things - this did not happen here. You can safely watch the film with one eye, do not miss something significant. Well, except for English-language titles, which for some reason were not translated in my version. Well, that's okay, I practiced English. Pros? I don't know. There are no obvious disadvantages, as well as obvious disadvantages. It's just a very average movie, about a pretty great man and a significant event. Which is a shame.
