Don't watch the trailer! The hero takes everything from life.
Well, in fact, the authors tell about a person in deep depression, with a broken psyche - and in the course of the plot there are events that only worsen this state. There is nothing funny in the film, if you do not dare to laugh at the strange sounding in the speech of the aristocrat of the XVIII century. obscene language and various anachronisms, such as the personal psychoanalyst Vice-Admiral. The filmmakers clearly draw a parallel between Thordenskjöld and modern “stars” who for various reasons turned out to be out of business... although I would call this parallel somewhat strained – after all, people who have gone through the war have their own special problems.
Nevertheless, the film is not without fairly accurate psychological observations and touching scenes... amid moral dirt and debauchery. This is what we should expect - a gloomy, sometimes even black postmodern drama, and not a cheerful historical comedy!
If you tune in correctly, you may like it, and the score will be higher than those who simply made a mistake in choosing an easy, mood-enhancing film.
