The series is noticeably below average, has no artistic value and scores are clearly twisted or overstated. However, the same can be said about 90% of modern Russian cinema / series.
Half of the actors in the main roles are no, many even have no normal diction, you have to listen constantly that he (a) mutters under his nose there. Even the secondary actors played much better. Well, Priluchny and Rednikova are just crooks, look disgusting.
Spoiler, don't read it.
But suddenly, the series can even somehow capture attention and pull out the beautiful views of Karelia (if I am not mistaken) and its superdynamics: you have not yet managed to recover from another blunder or stupidity of the script, and the police have already found and again missed the fugitives - shooting, chasing, but always by. The last time one of them was so brazen that he just punched the investigator in the face and left.
And big script questions. For example, prisoners from the camp were suddenly taken somewhere in a van and on the way they were asked to get out of the car and go to the bushes. What kind FSINs! Well, this is an escape according to plan, and do not be surprised at all - prisons in Russia are voluntary, people themselves come and go to them on the call of conscience. The director and screenwriters (to put it mildly) are not quite complete and live in some parallel reality, or all this was shot in 2 days and without a script. There's no other explanation.
