Unexpectedly enjoyed it. Despite the fact that I am absolutely not a fan of Russian films and especially ballet, but the picture is actually good, bright, moderately heavy, but also moderately life-affirming. There is something in this film that spiritually elevates the viewer. Despite the fact that there are shortcomings, in general, this is perceived as something worthy and does not cause doubtful mixed feelings. Ambiguous characters, strong acting, beautiful girls, an atmosphere of light and luxury, and at one point even a great special effect (who watched, he understands what I mean). In terms of entourage, heroes, directing and camera work, I have no complaints, everything is done with chic. What I liked most was that all the enemies here are... friends. In fact, each character of the picture is opposed to others, but no one loses the human appearance, everyone plays honestly and with dignity, agree, show understanding. This is a very unusual scenario find. At a minimum, it gives a good example to the viewer, and he needs such examples. But the film has a weakness, and that's unfortunately the plot. I hate that word, but in this case, it's a great way to describe the situation - it's a storytelling problem. That is, the authors had a good story, but they could not clearly tell it. How am I supposed to know in time that the scene "heroine steals in the street with the help of dance" is not after "heroine expelled from the ballet", but before? The case of the earrings – it was just handled somewhere behind the scenes, and it was a thrown intrigue, and I wanted to see how it was handled. Why doesn't Karina tell her mother anything about her studies? They have a good relationship. Why does a factory worker spend his time in a brothel like he's a major? Why is Julia looking for him there? Why is there such competition for the place of prima, can’t there be two primas in different productions from different directors? Why sell your prima place when the prima ends up making more money? Why did the guy who gave the heroine a ticket to life, just discharged from the plot with nothing? The film takes place in four time periods. Four! It's hard to follow. The biggest omission of the plot, I believe, is that the love lines here merge one by one. Well, that's not what the movie is about, but you can't. Here Julia finds a guy in two gestures, it’s already the night with him, and in the morning she runs away from him, and that’s it. The fact that the relationship lasted for some time after, you can learn only later on one single phrase. Why did you throw that away? Here Karina says that she intends to remain a convinced virgin, but already promises herself to the guy, but then this line simply cuts off. But she already loves the famous bolero, and nothing happens. So throwing storylines simply can not. In the end, I do not regret watching, everything is well filmed and played, all this is beautiful, chic, professional. But the story is very crumpled and many moments look unnatural and even superfluous. There are examples of bad cinematic tone, when between A and I cut everything from B to Yu, do not show how the character answered the question, cut off scenes. It's wrong. So I can bet 7 out of 10.
