I happened to be in Angleter in a Vox Lux. And this is boundless delight. I downloaded the soundtracks as soon as I left the theater, but the notifications on the phone did not immediately turn on - I wanted to spend more time in this feeling.
A movie about a pop star. I'm not very familiar with modern pop divas, but they say she looks like Madonna and Lady Gaga. Anyway, it's such a collective image. The main character became famous as a teenager, after writing a song about the shooting at the school, in which she miraculously survived. The producer found her, clutched an iron grip and made her a real star. And now, she's 30, her career is on the decline, with her daughter and sister relationships are disgusting, alcohol, drugs, drunken sex, tantrums - such that she falls to the floor and can't get up. You have back pain all your life, actually. They get paparazzi. At the same time, the movie turned out terribly real.
Here are the reviews left on the film search: “it is glitter and vomiting, mixed in one pot, seasoned with tantrums and vulgar music, called a great allusion, which you need to look with your foot on your foot, holding a glass of wine between your fingers and nodding your head understandingly.” It's kind of a negative review, but frankly, the glitter and vomit seasoned by historians is the kind of movie I want to watch.
The music was written by SIA, at the same time, this is not just a soundtrack - this is the album of the pop diva, which the movie is about. At the end, a big concert. Mocumentari did it.
It was directed by Brady Corbet, who played in all the films in the world (for example, in Mysterious Skin, Sils Maria (there is such a great Kristen Steward, my God...), Funny Games, all of them I terribly recommend, by the way), and then began to make films.
I just checked, and it's not his only movie. The debut was Childhood Leader, well-regarded. The trailer looks really good and I certainly can’t recommend anything I haven’t seen yet, but I’m going to see it myself.
