“Only he is worthy of life and freedom,
Who goes to fight for them every day! (Goethe)
The film is based on the book by teacher Erin Gruwell "Diary of Free Writers", which was written on the story that happened at Wilson Classical High School.
Watched with my eldest son. This is a great movie for teenagers aged 15-16. It is important for them to show this picture-statement, where there is no place for pathetics and moralizing intonations, but only a clear and balanced film due to the organic play of Hilary Swank. Something reminded the atmosphere of the “Society of Dead Poets”, and the style of the Estonian “Class”. And the secondary backbone of the actors also copes with this task.
Great movie. Highest score.
