Love happens A romantic comedy full of star names calling for viewing, containing several love stories shown interspersed. From part, the film is still divided into separate fragments that have names and are equipped with a kind of introductory video comments. And in fact, all this is just a visual guide for young people and lovers, about a variety of things, including various misconceptions and the original principles of psychology, both male and female.
Scarlett Yhanson, Jennifer Aniston, Ben Affleck, Justin Long, Jennifer Connelly, Drew Barrymore, and even the little Morgan Lily who has already been seen on 2012 in the introductory prologue, which is here really the main foundations in thinking and psychology of relationships. Of course, these are not all important names, and it is worth admitting a wonderful acting with a bright disclosure of characters not only central, but also second and even third degree importance. Talented young people managed to squeeze the maximum of feelings and emotions out of the whole history.
It is a pity that the director Ken Kuopis did not even try to squeeze something useful in the visual, sharpening the film for some reason under PG-13, although the landmarks of the history of youth are much older and adult, there is no need for this veil of grace in every erotic scene, deftly breaking off with kisses on the stomach and the presence in the frame of only underwear. However, without crossing the line of vulgarity and permissible, it is worth admitting that everything is masterfully done within its framework, but if the great James Cameron was able to squeeze the love stories with fleeting beautiful eroticism, barely falling into the frame, Kopis lacks neither strength, nor talent, nor experience. And, of course, and virtuoso skill to keep the screen for more than two hours at a growing degree of interest. The mix of stories consists of banal and unique, and it is not for nothing that the topic and statistics and exceptions to the rules are touched upon in the plot, but even with a beautiful production and talented actors, such a movie is not chosen and close to the maximum of possibilities.
All that this work lacks has long been demonstrated by “Love Actually”, and it is clear that they did not want to repeat themselves here, deciding to make only a softer variation on the theme. And in something they were right, the film does not look like a parody of similar ones, it is just “one of a number”, if anything enticing, it is a set of star names, which of course is not enough for a firm assessment of quality.
Diverse characters and a wide variety of their types will give an opportunity when watching such a film in the company, each of the viewers to find a character to their liking. And even if it does not look like the one who liked it, the characters of the film still know how to hook and attract attention.
But in the face of it all, you know, it's pretty tough. And hard not because of the large timekeeping or the abundance of storylines that have complex intersections with each other, but simply because the film at some point begins to really load you, pouring out tons of rules and chewing the cores of the relationship on all points. Instead of one viewing, it is easier to make a booklet with key concepts and explanations of gestures, expressions, actions and everything else that this movie makes you pay attention to.
And therefore, after watching, one does not leave the feeling that he saw now not an easy romantic comedy, but watched a whole research film for high school students, approved by the Ministry of Education and Education, made by state order to teach weak teenagers and set out to correctly teach them how to be guided by a bunch of paragraphs and rules, understanding their own love and romantic relationships.
The lack of fun lightness and ease became a fundamental problem of the film, forcing you to watch not interesting plots of love stories, but a set of miniatures set by a professional puppeteer. Yes, history still contains morality, instructiveness, moral motives, says a lot about love and friendship, but it is simply oversaturated with these things. And instead of a light dessert, fed with a well-fed lunch that exceeds the normal dosage several times, you run from all your feet to look at your beloved Shopaholic.
