At the seventh meeting of the Sokol physical culture society in 1920, Yaroslav Kral tells a friend about his life after returning from America. He got a job with Count Rossenberk as a driver for his daughter Eva and spent a lot of time with her. They were secretly in love with each other. The father wanted to marry his daughter to Count Chernin. Yaroslav caught Chernin when he molested the maid, and Chernin vilified Yaroslav in the eyes of the count. Yaroslav was kicked out of his job, but Eva refused Chernin and left his father’s house.
