Countdown The film is much closer to European drama than to an American thriller. The violence here lacks an element of the show, as in Saw. It's just violence, meaningless, destructive and consuming.
It's a beautiful idea to punish a pedophile for killing her daughter. Who better than a father to do that? And these 7 days we observe the subtle internal dynamics of the avenger Bruno Hemel, testing the idea on himself. This is probably the best part of the film. The profound change of the character is shaded by the staticity of the action (room, pedophile, torture - nothing changes) and the passivity of the police (who knows where this Bruno is... and still that rapist deserved ...) .
The countdown is launched, but the revenge instinct does not give support, and Bruno admits to the police that he is “sinking”. And when in a couple of days the main character needs to find support in this life, you understand that the film was not shot in vain and still made you think.

P.S. When the wife is reproached for having an orgasm when someone killed her daughter, there is a reference to von Trier’s Antichrist. And the main action takes place in some abandoned house in the woods, not far away is a dead deer.
