Superman has always been an alien from another planet, but that hasn’t been the focus of much attention. This time his story was made a classic alien invasion, a few years earlier the same thing happened with the story of the Transformers. The plots are similar: to waste the Earth to a company of crazy patriots to restore their native Krypton / Cybertron, but they do not allow one or more heroes who have found a new home here. To what I make such a comparison – in fact, neither one nor the other world was originally close to such a presentation of the plot, both universes led to this denominator, the total emasculation of plots. Fiction is extremely standardized, reduce all plots to a set of stamps. The association with the Pelevin light milker is gaining momentum... Why make interesting stories when people’s love is focused on a certain format? Give them a standard set: pterodactyl flights, spaceships, patriotism, heroism, victory over aliens, love... If humanity didn’t like templates, it would be possible to boycott going to the movies for such films, and cinema would be rebuilt in a couple of years. Well, even in the 20s, a wave of audience boycotts began, I thought that we would not wait.
"Man of Steel" seems like a good thing, it would be a terrific movie if it were one. But unfortunately, he didn't become 100th. The main advantage of the film is the first representation of the story of Super with a good visual, without poor comedy, everything is serious, beautiful. There is everything that was not in the old Superman films of the 70-80s, there were as many as 4 parts of the foolish action in almost a children's format, and our beautiful demigod fought with clowns. And then there's hop, like a movie.
In the YouTube parody "How it should have ended" the plot hole was very well fixed. If Superman had gone to talk to a space father, not a left-wing priest, before surrendering to the authorities, he would have told him that Zod could not be trusted and that his ship could be destroyed with a cradle. And since Zod gave 24 hours, it was more than enough to take off, hit the ship and send it into a black hole. There wouldn't be a single victim.
