Directed by Dustin Hoffman, The Quartet, 2012. The action takes place in a rather chic, but nevertheless experiencing material difficulties, a nursing home for retired artists, mainly musicians. We see that, despite the decent outward appearance of the surroundings, the problems of the people there are no different from the problems of any old man, and that no matter how they roar, they are still mostly lonely and sick people. However, despite all the daily fuss, they are still able to give a moment of joy to themselves and others. Beautiful actors performing the main roles (Maggie Smith, Tom Courtney, Billy Connolly, Pauline Collins, Michael Gambon), and the participation of real former musicians, the soundtrack of beautiful classical melodies, brings additional pleasure and authenticity. I'm not talking about the beautiful English estate where the shooting took place. I liked the film very much, but I can only recommend it to like-minded people. Dustin Hoffman made with knowledge and understanding, in my opinion, a beautiful mature film.
