After watching “Beaver to complain!”, I decided to get acquainted with the “Customs”. Dani Boone's new film is also good, but weaker, although about everything in order.
Here Boone again raises the rather inconvenient topic of intolerance. French customs officer Mathias (Dani Boone) is in love with the sister of his colleague from Belgium, but here's the trouble - this Belgian, Ruben (Benois Poulward) fiercely hates the French and considers them historical enemies. To top it off, the customs regime between the countries is weakened and, as a sign of unification, a mobile customs point is created, where one Belgian and one Frenchman become partners - our heroes.
"Customs gives good" is closer to the classic French comedy. Chasing, stupid smugglers, a slight touch of absurdity - all typical. “Beaver to scold!” in this regard was, albeit romantic, but more lifelike film. Not to mention a more complex issue, the promotion of tolerance was not limited to this. But, I must say, the level of “Customs...” also corresponds to the classics – the film is very funny and does not let you miss a minute.
What I want to note is that the customs nationalist Ruben turned out so convincing that sometimes it is not even funny, from his downright SS zeal in persecuting the French. In general, the character turned out to be colorful, but unpleasant, some real fascist.
Summary: a good French comedy about love and difficult interethnic relations.
