The Soviet melodrama “Young Wife” was directed by Leonid Menaker based on the script by Irina Velembovskaya for her story “Behind the Stone Wall” from the collection “Family Affairs” many years ago. Young Manya Streltsova (Anna Kamenkova) escorted her boyfriend into the army and patiently waited for his return, with happy confidence in the future, reading his letters and rejoicing at the soldiers' photos.
