The first and most important thing is that if you liked the movie, you bought a very simple bun. You were shown the cute faces of children, sunshine, fatherly love, people pleasant to the degree of angelic dust, turned on pleasant music, manipulating your emotions – and you bought it, splashed in a blissful smile with a sense of how great it is to turn off the brain and what a 10-point film... Now, the pleasantness flair will go away in a day, and some people will want to think about it, not if you were deceived. And you were cheated. Sugar was poured into cheap wine, and you rejoice, forgetting that it is not sugar that is important in wine, but aging.
There. The film is so empty and worthless that it is stupidly absent. We have a film about family and mystical ability, but there is not even the slightest mystical trick for any shake-up, and there are no family dramas and incidents worth fixing. Character magical ability corrects such problems that normal, confident people do not even arise. The actors play zero - they walk around and smile nicely throughout the film. Let’s have sex – we smile shyly, we have a child – we smile, our father has cancer – we smile, our father died – we smile a little darker. Where the fuck are the tears, the hysterics? Where is one quarrel, but one scene of real laughter, surprise, shock? Nothing.
Okay, let’s say we have a film about nothing and without acting, but at least some concept worked out it shows? Not either! To travel back in time, you have to go into a secluded, dark place and focus on a moment in the past—my God, we do that every day! Glavger had to discover this ability as a child, and his father has to explain it to a guy at 21. Their father discovered this ability himself. The hero moves out of the closet - fine, but why does he move into the past too??? His body, belonging to this moment, was NOT in the closet, he was not in the closet at the time! The movie always breaks its own rules. They say that only men can travel. Hop, the hero takes his sister back. They say that you can only travel to the past. Hop, the hero goes from the past to the changed present without reliving the time period anew, this is actually a move into the future. They say you can’t travel in the moments before your children are born, otherwise you will have other children. Hop, he's traveling, he's fine. Why did I have to return the moment with the accident of my sister, damn it, it was already after the birth of the child, and once was canceled without consequences, so why was it restored??? I have the impression that instead of the film crew, there was a company of crazy, you know, not violent, but such... blissful. They don’t know what’s going on, but they’re happy. A completely stupid, infantile film, with music that manipulates you on the most primitive level, with a voiceover (this is, if anyone does not know, the seal of a bad film), with no actors, with dull characters, a complete lack of logic, drama, conflict, depth. Absolutely nothing.
Here are movies with similar concepts, but much stronger and more successful: “The Butterfly Effect”, “The Time Traveler’s Wife”, “Repeat Reality”, “Return”, “Time Mistake”, “The Strange Story of Benjamin Button”. All these films are about time, emotions and fates, all of them are beautiful, in each of them you follow living believable people and their passions, they all hold drama, philosophy and tension.
