Normal, but not Super Good Quite a simple and kind lyrical comedy, with jokes on the subject of Russians, filmed by Germans, and showing how the lives of Russian emigrants who came to Germany from the USSR-Russia in the early 90s were in the view of Germans.
What qualities of the film would I highlight? Simplicity, lyricism and somewhat naive kindness. These are the advantages of the film, and at the same time its disadvantages.
For example, in a situation where you just want to see something light, kind, a little romantic, funny and funny, without much trouble, and claims to believability and realism – this film is quite suitable.
But at the same time, the main features of the film can be regarded as its shortcomings, if the viewer has high requirements for all components of the film, ranging from:
- the storyline of the film - since the plot of the film is quite simple, and all the scenes in it are simple to the extent that in some places there is a feeling of banality;
- humor - which in the film is also quite simple and uncomplicated, because sometimes it was funny, and sometimes jokes caused only a small smile because of good nature.
Melodramatic moments – which are also quite predictable and simple.
- the realism of the film - due to the fact that many details and details of everything are omitted, everything is shown simplified to the maximum, the characters everything develops as if by itself, and without any problems, on "one or two"; and in some places everything looks even too "kind" - to naivety and simplicity;
- the plausibility of the characters - the Russians are shown precisely in the ironic representation of the Germans, and the Germans themselves play them, and therefore the Russian characters resemble only partially.
Therefore, especially critical in these moments, viewers can develop a feeling of improbability of the film - like me, because of my excessive criticality to everything, and the conviction that everything is simple, romantic, and good in life very, rarely when it develops.
Therefore, I put the film 7 - because in principle the film is not bad, but too simple in my opinion.
Although again – there is sometimes a desire to watch something so simple, not drawn-out, such-and-such simplified even in places to banality, good-natured, a little funny, a little romantic story, which, although unrealistic, but if you shoot some more-realistic and believable movie on this topic, based on this plot, then a film of the hour will be 3-3.5, pretty overloaded with various details, and therefore much more difficult to perceive. Sometimes I want something simpler...
And so, if you want something “simple” and “pretty” than it often happens in real life, then this film will be just quite more or less “norm”, because “7” out of 10 – because “normal”, but not “Super-Good”.
