Lev Vladimirovich Losev (real surname - Lifshitz) was born on June 15, 1937 in Leningrad in the family of poet-satirist V. Lifshits. In 1959 he graduated from the Faculty of Philology (Department of Journalism) of LSU. Poems began to write as a student, participated in the university LITO, in seminars of young authors at the Writers’ Union. Lev Vladimirovich Losev (real surname - Lifshitz) was born on June 15, 1937 in Leningrad in the family of poet-satirist V. Lifshits. In 1959 he graduated from the Faculty of Philology (Department of Journalism) of LSU. Poems began to write as a student, participated in the university LITO, in seminars of young authors at the Writers’ Union. In 1962-1975 he worked in the children's magazine "Koster" as an editor of the pioneer department, wrote children's poems and plays, as well as scripts for children's television films. In 1976 he emigrated from the USSR and settled in the USA. Collaborated with the magazine "Continent". In 1981-1984 he was a postgraduate student at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), where he defended his thesis “On the Benefits of Censorship”. Aesopian language in Russian literature. He is engaged in literary studies, professor of Dartmouth College (Hanover, New Hampshire); editor-compiler of the collection “Poetics of Joseph Brodsky”. Author of several books of poems, including "Wonderful landing", "Secret Counsellor".
