(1901-1975) Laszlo Nemeth, Hungarian writer. Master of psychological prose. One of the ideologists of the social-literary movement “people’s writers”, a supporter of “socialism without Marxism”. He is the author of the novels Mourning, Sin, Esther Egete, Mercy, numerous historical dramas (Jan Hus, Galileo (Russian translation 1958), The Death of Gandhi, plays about A. S. Pushkin The Last Days). One of the best translators of Russian and Soviet literature into Hungarian.
