The world-famous post-impressionist painter Vincent Van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853 in the village of Grot-Sündert in the south of the Netherlands. His father was a pastor of a Protestant church, and his mother was the daughter of an honorary bookbinder and bookseller. As a child, Vincent was a difficult, wayward and tedious child. No one in the family believed anything worthwhile could come out of him. But the neighbors, on the contrary, noticed in him a cheerful, friendly, friendly and modest boy. At the age of seven, he was sent to a village school, but a year later he was taken away from there, and Vincent continued his studies at home with a governess. In 1864, Vincent was sent to study 20 kilometers from home to the boarding school of Zeenbergen. Two years later, Vincent Van Gogh continued his studies at Willem II College in Tilburg. He is very good at learning languages, especially English, French and German, and there Vincent receives drawing lessons. But here he did not finish his studies and returned home.
In 1869, Vincent Van Gogh got a job in a branch of a large art and trade firm. In 1873 he was transferred to London. During his time at the company, Vincent became well versed in painting, often visited exhibitions and museums. At the same time (1875), the future artist had unrequited love, after which his affairs went worse, and the company decided to send him to Paris. Then he turned to reading the Bible and on his return to England decided to become a priest.
Until 1880, Vincent Van Gogh seriously studied the Gospel, preached in his homeland, but still disappointed in his choice and quit his job. At the same time, he starts sketching pictures.
Since 1880 he has been intensively studying painting in Brussels and Antwerp. And already by 1888 in the paintings of Vincent van Gogh appeared his fiery temperament, harmony in colors and fear of hostile forces (“Yellow House”, “Gauguin’s Chair”).
Vincent Van Gogh also wrote a number of works: “Letters to Brother Theo”, “Letters to Friends”, “Table of Sizes of Paintings”, “Letters”.
Vincent Van Gogh was treated in a mental hospital, where he committed suicide in July 1890. A great artist was buried in France.
