Raimo Kangro is an Estonian composer and educator. He was born on 21 September 1949 in Tartu. In 1973 he received a diploma from the Tallinn Conservatory, where he studied the art of composition. From 1975 to 1976, Kangro was a music editor at the Estonian Television Studio, in 1977 he was enrolled in the staff of the Estonian Composers' Union as a consultant, and worked there until 1985. Raimo Kangro is an Estonian composer and educator.
He was born on 21 September 1949 in Tartu. In 1973 he received a diploma from the Tallinn Conservatory, where he studied the art of composition.
From 1975 to 1976, Kangro was a music editor at the Estonian Television Studio, in 1977 he was enrolled in the staff of the Estonian Composers' Union as a consultant, and worked there until 1985. And since 1993, a new stage in his professional life began - Raimo became an assistant professor at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, led an active teaching work.
Work activity did not prevent Kangro to engage in his main hobby, which became the work of his life - music. He was the author of several serious symphonic works at once, including a number of operas, cantatas, sonatas for piano.
